On September 23, 2005 we lost a good friend and truly unique human being. Kent "Stormin" Norman was a much loved personality on the Eastern Shore because of his legendary misadventures, high-energy, infectious spirit and exceptional loyalty to his friends and family.
The Stormin Norman Inshore Challenge is a not-for-profit organization formed by friends of the one-and-only Kent "Stormin" Norman. We are committed to keeping Kent's memory alive by hosting an annual inshore fishing tournament and fund raiser. Money raised from sponsors will be donated, in the form of an interest bearing trust fund, to an area child who has lost a parent.Additional proceeds are donated to the Lighthouse, a non-profit agency committed to helping victims of domestic violence.
Every year the tournament draws over three hundred competing anglers, making it the largest inshore tournament in the state. Our day-long weigh in event brings hundreds of spectators who enjoy the beach, live music, great food, cold drinks and good friends.
The tournament is open to all Alabama waters. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Speckled Trout, Redfish, Flounder and Tripletail. The tournament is open to adult and junior anglers.
