2012 Beneficiaries - the Family of Tim Lennicx

photoThe 2012 Stormin Norman recipients will be the family of Tim Lennicx. Tim was Fairhope native who dedicated his life to his family and community. He worked for the City of Fairhope for 18 years starting as a custodian, then dispatcher and eventually as a full-time police officer. He later worked with the city's electrical division. Tim's greatest service and his greatest joy, however, came through his 18 years of dedicated and exemplary work with the Fairhope Volunteer Fire Department. His many and varied years of faithful and outstanding service were recently recognized by Mayor Tim Kant who issued a proclamation lauding Tim for "loyal and dedicated service to the city of Fairhope".

Tim's brother, Joe Lennicx, said he spent most of his life attending to the needs of other people. "He has been a volunteer all of his life, whether it be youth sports or it was with the fire department or police department, he was a policeman he just loved serving," Joe added.

Assistant Fire Chief Dan McCrory worked alongside Lennicx. He said when they arrived at a fire, Lennicx was always the first one out of the truck and in the house.

In January 2009 Tim was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. After battling the disease for 8 short months Tim passed away on August 24th 2009 at age 40. He left behind a daughter and two sons. Today Brooke Lennicx is 19, Ladd Lennicx is 10, and Owen Lennicx is 9. He would be very proud of his children. They cherish the time that they got to have with him. There isn't a day that goes by that they dont miss him. His spirit lives on in them!!
