Michael Cote was killed in action in Iraq in September 2009. He is survived by his wife Ashley and 2 year old daughter Brooke.
Brooke was born in March 2009 while Michael's unit was deployed to Iraq. In May he was able to briefly return home and spend 2 weeks with his new baby girl before being redeployed. Michael was killed in action in September 2009, when his Black Hawk crashed and subsequently awarded the Bronze Star. Brooke and Ashely were not recipients of Michael's military death benefit. Ashley, herself a veteran, and Brooke live in Mobile. The Stormin Norman Inshore Challenge will be helping Ashely and Brooke get back on track with financial assistance and improvements to their home. In addition, a small memorial will be constucted for Michael in the family's back yard, where his military headstone and bronze star will be displayed.invalid location provided
