In November of 2009 Erik Knight passed away suddenly while on a break from working on an offshore drilling platform. He is survived by wife Ashely and two children, Terra age 12 and David age 9.
Erik, a native of Fairhope, was 36. Shortly after Eric's death Ashely was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has recently completed multiple courses of chemotherapy and is currently in remission. Ashely lives in Robertsdale and is currently in nursing school. While still coping with their loss of their father, Terra and David are typical kids who are active in school and sports. In addition to the responsibilities of being a single working parent and student, Ashely is struggling with mounting medical bills and mortgage payments. Funds and services donated to The Stormin Norman Inshore Challenge will help Ashley, Terra and David by assisting with bill payments and much needed repairs to the family home.
