2009 Recipients

John "Scooter" Williams grew up in Gadsden, Al and went to University of Alabama where he was a Deke – a little studying and a lot of partying – as I understand. He ended up in Mobile working for me at CPSI after college where he was, basically, a travelling software consultant. That’s were he met his wife, Jennifer Adams. Scooter was a wild man and Jennifer was, and still is, a sweet, quiet good girl – they kinda balanced each other out. They married and had 3 kids – Caroline (7), Reed (4) and Ella (3). About 3-4 years ago, Scooter changed careers and opened up a Farmer’s Insurance Agency in Mobile.

Scooter had an adventurous soul and enjoyed fishing, scuba diving, snow skiing and above all, he was an avid motorcyclist. He and I made several trips on our Harley’s across the Rocky’s and made an annual run to the Smokey’s. It was never dull.

In short, Scooter was a great friend, husband, father, brother and son. He never met a stranger and had more friends than anyone I’ve ever known.
